Working hand in hand with civil society leaders around the world, we’re addressing democratic backsliding from the grassroots. We’re supporting those doing the work today — the activists and journalists standing up for democracy, justice, and pluralism — with flexible, unrestricted funding and meaningful connections to global partners.
STROIKA is lean. Our team of two connects with activists via trusted networks, pinpoints urgent needs, and securely distributes targeted support. We curate secure spaces for intersectional learning, scenario planning, and imagining alternative futures. We also mobilize the resources for leaders to experiment with resistance strategies: we secure new investments to get much-needed funds directly to the organizations, grassroots movements, and individuals confronting authoritarianism today.
